Chicken House and Pen
I just got the chicken house built and the fence for the pen so that they can run around outside. I also have two ducks in addition to several chickens. Lets hope I see some eggs soon and I can keep the coyotes and foxes away. The hens seem to be getting the idea on how to get in and out of the chicken house.

New Stone Knives
Despite a left thumb injury in the joint, I tried doing some stone knapping again to make some stone knives and made these two. I haven't made anything in a couple months in which time I was moving and getting settled on my new property. Both of these measure 12 inches in length and are sharp and notched like it was done in the 19th century. Now if only this thumb injury would heal, I don't want to see a doctor for a cortisone shot.

Flint and Antler
Traded some blade cleaning and sharpening for some flint and antler, I suppose I could make some arrowhead knives with the small antler..
The Total Eclipse of the Moon
I got up early this morning to take some photos of the total eclipse of the moon, fortunately I had mainly clear skies but wish I had had a better camera. The photos are at different stages of the moon..

Texas is the "Fastest" State
Yep, here is another top ranking for the State I live in, With a speed limit of 85 mph on specified segments of rural interstates, Texas is the fastest state in the country. The state's average speed limit for all three types of roadways (rural and urban interstates and limited-access roads) is 78.3. That's nearly 2 mph greater than the next-fastest state, Idaho. No wonder there are so many accidents in this State and of course insurance rates are up there. Below is the link:

Time to do some shooting
It has been a while since I shot my 9mm Ruger which is one of my guns I keep mainly in my cabin for any uninvited idiots but I have also been known to go to the range and do some target shooting.

The Flu Shot
I went for a drive in my truck to the town of Marble Falls to visit a pharmacy for this seasons flu shot. Now Walgreens charges $31.00 for this public health service if you do not have insurance, so while getting the shot, I talked with the person giving me the shot about this, that something like this so important to public health should be free to the community and not for profit, I of course got the answer that "that is the way our health care system is". I of course had the insurance to cover it, but I thought a relevant question for these huge pharmacy companies to "think" about in their community..

Wondering in the Woods
I decided to wonder around in the wooded area of my property for awhile looking at plant life and the trees and being able to lose myself in the woods was a nice thing.

"The most overvalued market in the U.S. was Austin, Texas (overvalued by 19%). In fact, the median price for single-family homes in Austin jumped 11% year-over-year in August to $247,500 and the average price rose 9% to $311,414, according to data released last week by the Austin Board of Realtors. Austin is actually more overvalued in 2014 than it was in 2006 (when it was only 2% overvalued)"
New Roof for the Shed
Finally bought the roofing metal ($70) for my storage shed and put it on over top the wooden beams and plastic tarp I already had on it from the property, now there will be no leaks. Decided to put bricks on top in addition to nailing down the metal on the ends with the winter storms that come through here.
